First, you will need to decide where to keep your Eye Rx Database data files. That depends on whether your data will be accessed by single or multiple users.
SINGLE-USER SETUP: If your data will only be accessed by a single-user, install Eye Rx Database on user's computer. Next, create an empty directory for the data anywhere on user's computer. Start Eye Rx Database and choose File | Create Database menu. Choose the newly created empty directory.
MULTIPLE USER SETUP: If the data will need to be accessed by multiple users, decide which computer on your network should hold the data (your data server). On your data server, create an empty directory on the hard disk of your choice. Now you will need to share this newly created empty directory (folder) and map a network drive to this directory. Install and start Eye Rx Database. Choose File | Create Database menu and choose the newly mapped network drive.
On another machine (the client machine) that needs to access the same data, you will also need to install Eye Rx Database. On your client machine, map a network drive to the data directory on your data server. Start Eye Rx Database and choose File | Open Database menu and choose the newly mapped network drive.
ENTER REGISTRATION CODE: After you purchase a license for Eye Rx Database, you receive a Registration Code containing the name of the Vision Care Provider as it would appear on printed prescription forms. The Registration Code allows you to convert your trial version of the software into a licensed version without re-installation. All your information remains intact. Choose Help | Enter Registration Code... menu in Eye Rx Database application to enter the Registration Code. Otherwise, you may continue using the software in trial mode for 30-days.
